    Hi

    I'm earning just under the higher tax band in the UK as a teacher. I've been offered a pay rise because I am taking up more responsibilities - however if I did I would be put into the higher tax bracket, according to this this calculator. Does that mean I have to pay 40% tax on all my income? Surely it wouldn't be worth taking up the pay rise? Really confused right now, hope someone can help soon.
