Are penny stocks worth the risk or is it just gambling?

Anyone here made any money off penny stocks? I've been thinking about taking $100 and buying into a couple. I've read where people have made big bucks on the right ones, but I also see where investors are against it. What do you think?

Your odds are better going to a casino and playing blackjack. Seriously, stay away from them. They are mostly scams. Sure, someone hits the lottery every now and then, but it is hardly a good investment option.

Penny stocks can be profitable if you research the companies fundamentals and technical's. If you find companies which have a great product and even better future then it might be worth devoting a small proportion of your portfolio to the investments.
