College struggling!!!!

This summer has been very strange. To keep it short I haven't found work and school starts up soon and I don't have the money for books or housing. I just need something to get me into a new home and then I can figure everything out once school starts. Please is you can do anything I ask that you please do. It may not seem like my situation is dire but I need to get a new place fast

Hey Carl, when you say school are you still in High School or do you mean further education? If you meant further education then you should be eligible for help with housing especially if you're near the federal poverty line. You should head over to the Department of Housing and Urban Development to look at the 3 programs they have on offer. If you're eligible you could get into subsidized housing or social housing where the rents are very low. Another program is called the section 13 program where you get a voucher towards your rental bill which means you can pretty much choose where you live.

For books I would suggest using sites like Amazon to find used text books. You can also find books on eBay too and these are usually dirt cheap. You could even go as far as contacting the sellers to ask them for a bigger discount or even ask for free books. Another option is going direct to the publishers asking them for assistance. Publishing houses love helping people in need especially when it comes to education and have a discretionary fund to help low income individuals who want to educate themselves.
