    If you're on a low income in the UK you could be eligible for a free computer/PC. If you're on borderline low income you might be eligible for a partially free computer that's been subsidized by the UK Conservative Government. You can apply for the free computer grant if you apply for the following benefits and receive them:

    1. Housing Benefit
    2. Income Support
    3. Job Seekers Allowance
    4. Pension Credit
    5. Disability Living Allowance
    6. Attendance Allowance
    7. Carers Allowance
    8. Incapacity Benefits
    9. Employment and Support Allowance

    You are still eligible for assistance if you live in remote areas and deprived areas like Birmingham and Bristol. Students also can apply for these free computers from the government in 2015. Check out the following links.

    Free Computers and PC's for Low Income Families

    1. Get Online @ Home
    You can get refurbished PC's from £99 and Laptops for £149. You can even get another £50 discount if you hook up with one of the approved broadband providers such as PlusNet, Sky, EE (Now BT) and Talk Talk. You get a choice of the following hardware.

    Desktop PC: 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive and a 15in TFT flat screen monitor.
    Laptop: 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, webcam (integrated or separate) and a 14in screen

    Thanks for sharing the information. I have just placed an order for a refurbished PC for £99. I was think I would have to shell out more close to £500 but this subsidized refurbished computer is great. Thanks for all your help.
