I was thinking of furthering my education and I really don't want to take out a loan or ask my parents for help. Can anyone explain to me how to write a proposal letter for a scholarship? If anyone knows the exact process then I would be grateful if they could share it with me. Basically I need to know how to find scholarship money and then how to apply for it. I really appreciate any help that you can give in advance.

The first thing that you need to do is decide what you want course you want to do. Once you've decided you need to find the colleges and universities that offer these courses and then check whether they offer grants, scholarship, bursaries or fellowship. If they do you can then apply for them through the colleges. If they don't then you need to find scholarships that will support you while you go to that particular university or college. I have bookmarked an excellent article here on how to write an effective proposal for getting a scholarship. Take Care

Thanks for the information, really useful. I have a few colleges in mind however they do not offer any grants or scholarships for that course. You mentioned that I could apply elsewhere for the money, how can I do this? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I'm glad you found them useful. You can look for scholarships on a site called the foundation Center. I really recommend this site because it has a complete database dedicated to finding foundations that offer scholarship money. Before you start writing any proposals or applications I would recommend that you take a course in proposal writing or scholarship writing so that your chances of being accepted and increased significantly. If you have excellent grades and you have a passion to study someone will definitely fund you.

Also I forgot to mention that there is a paid subscription service which allows you to search more deeply, I would recommend that you pay for one of the services to get better results. If you're really active there is no reason why you can't get a $100K + scholarship.

Thanks for sharing these links, I've enrolled myself into a proposal writing course and I'm sure it will pay off, if I can pay all my tuition costs using a scholarship and get through college without any debt I would be over the moon. Thanks for sharing.
