Hello, I live in Venezuela and I'm trying to leave this country. I've been looking for a job for 3 years now but no one wants to hire anyone here. Our currency is devaluing every day and getting money just gets harder. I'm a programmer I want to work honestly and earn my own money with my effort but it's just not possible in this country.

I just wanted to give an update hopefully this can encourage someone. I didn't receive help from this site however I was able to make ends meet here are a few things I had to do to get out of the hole and here are some things I have achieved:
I was able to achieve my Masters degree, I tried the PHD for one semester it was too expensive to do and a bit hard for my circumstances however I am now in a graduate certificate for Program Management hoping that it will help me get a promotion.
I applied for several jobs in states that was most affordable, receive offers and accept one in the south where my rent is $650 less. I get more for my money. I was spending $1800 for a two bedroom apt, 1 bath in NY I now am renting a 3 bed, two bath, two dining room, two car garage with lots of yard space house for $1,150.00.
The car that the bank was going to repo, I paid it off with my tax money, gave away all my furniture, bought a second vehicle an packed the stuff I needed in it, (It was cheeper than shipping) and paid for my dad to come help me drive to the south with the remaining tax money.
I had enough to pay for my first and last month rent. We struggled for a bit, not enough food etc. However God blessed me so that I could help my sister and sister and law moved here (They were struggling in florida) and my mom had to have emergency heart surgery. So things where difficult for me in the beginning to the point that the second car had gotten repo but with hard work I was able to pay that off as well. Since I only needed to drive one car I put the second car in my garage and let my insurance company know I would not be driving it so the payments went to storage rate.
This job I got is a promotion with massive overtime so I knew if I just push it through I will be straight after a year. (The move was 2015)
To survive I cut the cable as well and lowered my cell phone bill to the smallest plan. I packed my lunch for work. I bought all great value products (Walmart brand), sale products and used coupons. I couldn't afford soda and juice every pay period so I made lemonade and Icetea (teabags).
When I made the year in 2016 I worked overtime the entire summer. (6-6 and Sundays, I worhip on Saturdays). I even turned the gas off for the summer to save money to pay off bills (only the fire place and hot water used the gas, the pipes was hot from the summer heat)
I was able to pay off the car before Christmas. When I received my 2016 tax I used it to pay all my bills that I could. (Oh yeah I almost got evicted once, I had to go to court but I kept pushing)
I was able to finance my furniture for my apt, I bought lots of stuff for a good price at Good will (solid wood furniture for less than $100.00) I almost paid off my washer and dryer.
Since January I have been working overtime as much as I can. I plan to double up this summer to get rid of my $13,000 student loan.
Last month was rough but I was planning my back up plan if I hit a wall and it is all working out praise God. I saved majority of my overtime and now that I hit a wall I am able to use that money I put aside to get over this wall.
*The point I am making is that today is not your tomorrow but how you plan your today can determine your tomorrow.
*Manage your time don't let your time manage you
*Always make cost effective decisions and save for rainy days even when it's sunny outside
*It's not how much you make but how much you spend. (This right here can dig you out the hole you are in now in less than 60 days). Reduce your usage and you will see how much you can save.
*Having no hot water, cell phone, cable and internet is better than getting evicted.
*Low brand food is better than no food
*Dollar tree is your best friend on a low budget (toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, soapclothes, even food until next payday)
*Buy food when its on sale not when you need it. If it normally costs $1.50 and its on sale for .50cents stock up for hard time.
*Always have water, flour, yeast, baking soda, sugar and oil in stock. You can make fritters, fried dough, bread, wraps, pancake, cake, dumplings etc. with these simple ingredients.

Now to fix my credit score so hopefully I can stop renting and own a home.

I almost forgot the best part. This week will make a year since my disabled son chose to stop taking his med. I supported him in his decision. I cant recall ever having to pick him up from school or him being suspended since then. He now has grades (before the plan was to get his behavior under control). He has been on meds, hospitalized once, weekly visits to the psych ward etc. since he was in the first grade. He will be going to a regular school this upcoming school year. He did so good he doesn't have to attend the special school anymore. This is the best part. I am so greatful. I had to give up my military career and even lost my first house to save my son so he don't become a statistic and it is all paying off. I lost a lot which can be replaced but my son is irreplaceable. Praise God!

I'm trying to get a customized wheelchair from Custom Mobility where the chair fits to my body and is very light in weight. The chair is going to cost 2850.00 because it is Customize and the weight of the chair. I live with my mother who is sick herself but doesn't have my disability. I have Two brothers that suffer from Ataxia as well. But they have people to help them while I'm all alone. I'm asking if you can help me with the chair and making my home handicap accessible .
