Where Can I Get Help for Needy Families? I Need Help With Everything

I'm really struggling financially at the moment, my husband and I are on a very very low income due to hours being cut, we need to support our family but month my month our financial position is deteriorating. I just need some help until I can get more hours at work. Does anyone know of any financial assistance or help for needy families? I would be grateful if you can offer any ideas on housing, financial help, government programs, help with energy, help with food, unemployment information, help with clothing, help with cars, help with Christmas. I am really desperate at the moment and would appreciate any help.

This might sound a little weird but have you tried recycling sites like FreeCycle.com, these sites find new homes for things that are still in working order, if you're prepared to take in items from other people, then clean it up and wrap it as a present you could seriously save a lot of money.
